Reports say the Finance Ministry has cleared a proposal to raise the mandatory EPF/EPS wage ceiling from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000. It now goes to the Union Cabinet. If approved, workers on ₹15,000–₹25,000 basic pay would also fall under mandatory PF. The change may apply from April 2027; no official notification yet.
