Kanimozhi backs Minister Keerthana
Online body-shaming of women in politics is cheap politics, Kanimozhi said; Jothimani said nobody has the right to shame a woman over dress.
Minister Keerthana said she was not the person wrongly identified in a video. MP Kanimozhi said attacking women over dress, appearance and private life is cheap politics, and that women must win by going past such attacks. Jothimani said nobody has the right to decide a woman’s clothing or shame her for it. Ideas and work can be criticised; body-shaming is social violence.
