In all official events - schools, universities, government offices and public sector bodies - the state song should be sung first.
The Assembly has unanimously resolved that Tamil Thai Vazhthu must come first. In all official events - schools, universities, government offices and public sector bodies - the state song should be sung first. The resolution follows the Centre’s new Vande Mataram–National Anthem event protocol. Tamil Thai Vazhthu has opened government programmes since 1970 and was named the official state song by the DMK government in 2021. CM Vijay said Tamil Nadu has written to the PM and the Centre seeking priority for state songs. All parties backed the resolution.
