Delimitation Resolution Passes Amid Divided Assembly
It passed by voice vote with support from DMK, Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK and IUML.
On August 12, Chief Minister Vijay moved a separate Assembly resolution against constituency delimitation. It passed by voice vote with support from DMK, Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK and IUML. Udhayanidhi Stalin said Tamil Nadu must not be affected and affirmed DMK’s support for 33% women’s reservation. AIADMK, BJP and PMK opposed; DMDK did not clearly state its position.
