Aavin milk halt from 24 August?
TVK promised ₹44 a litre; the government announced ₹41. Producers say they will stop supply.
TVK’s manifesto promised to raise Aavin’s procurement price from ₹38 to ₹44 a litre. The government has now announced a ₹3 hike, to ₹41. The producers’ union says farmers get only ₹1.25 extra after administrative deductions. If ₹44 is not paid as promised, they say they will stop supplying milk to Aavin from 24 August.
