Jos Alukkas and Joyalukkas are separate companies, but they are run by brothers from the same family. Chief Minister Vijay previously appeared as a brand ambassador for Jos Alukkas. In the ₹755-crore Thaimaman gold-ring scheme, Joyalukkas was selected on the tender (70%). Other firms quoted extra costs from ₹410.97 to ₹15,356.27; Joyalukkas quoted ₹0.01, a gap that has fuelled suspicion. Online, people are linking the old ads with the current tender.
