Parandur airport project cancelled

CM Joseph Vijay has cancelled the Parandur airport project, citing harm to farmers and settlements. The government has responded to continued protests by villagers, including Ekanapuram. Meenambakkam airport, which handles about 3 crore passengers a year, will be expanded. A new airport will be planned at an alternative site that causes less damage to farmland and homes.
