Tamil Nadu Assembly Passes Resolution Seeking TET Exemption
Following the Supreme Court direction requiring 3,28,701 government-school teachers to qualify by 31 August 2026, the resolution asks the Union government to amend Section 23 of the RTE Act, 2009.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously passed a special resolution urging a complete and permanent TET exemption for teachers appointed before 23 August 2010. Following the Supreme Court direction requiring 3,28,701 government-school teachers to qualify by 31 August 2026, the resolution asks the Union government to amend Section 23 of the RTE Act, 2009.
